My story
The goal: Published author.
I’ve wanted to be an author since I was in the 5th grade – maybe even before that. Life, as it tends to do, got in the way but 31 years after asking for my first typewriter, I’m finally embarking on my literary adventure
The conflicts: Where to start?
I’m a raging introvert, I have no training or education in the literary world, my spelling is atrocious and I’m crushed that the secluded writer, drinking bourbon in a tiny room overlooking the ocean, pounding out brilliance on an old Smith Corona is a myth.
But.
Despite all this, I am not deterred.
I’m a loan processor by day and an author by night (okay, sometimes by early morning, too). I’ve self-published two novels, Mermaid: A Novel and The Things Friends Hide. As of today, I’m in the middle of writing my third novel, title to be determined, and wondering why the hell I keep doing this to myself. Twenty-six measly letters, so many possibilities.
